NYIT seeks a Systems Engineer, to be located at the Old Westbury campus. The position can be considered for a hybrid/remote position with flexibility of working remotely and in our NYC or Old Westbury offices as in line with New York Tech remote work policy.
The Systems Engineer is a trusted resource who will work collaboratively with NYIT’s IT infrastructure and Information Security team to design, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain NYIT’s systems infrastructure ensuring the availability of production and test systems. The Systems Engineer serves as a senior technical resource responsible for managing complex server environments, authentication systems, Microsoft 365 services, automation platforms, and research computing infrastructure while providing advanced technical support for faculty, staff, students, and administrative departments. This position will contribute to the efforts of safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the enterprise infrastructure across the university. The incumbent will be required to participate in Systems related workgroups, to cross train members of the systems team and develop support runbooks.
The successful incumbent will possess outstanding communication skills while adhering to our high standard of excellence. They will be team players with the ability to work independently and possess strong analytical and multitasking skills. This position plays a critical role in ensuring stability, security, availability, and performance of institutional technology systems that support the University's academic, research, and administrative missions.
