Overview

The Department of Anatomy at New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM), Old Westbury campus, invites applications for a three-year Postdoctoral Teaching and Research Fellow position.

The Anatomy Department includes 9 full-time faculty with active research programs in paleontology, evolution, development, functional morphology, biomechanics, and neurosensory anatomy. The successful applicant will have access to the department's Visualization Center equipped with micro-CT scanner, CT processing software; a fresh tissue laboratory for histology and staining; an embryology laboratory for in vivo experiments; a microscopy facility with confocal microscopes; both human and animal gait labs for collecting kinematic, kinetic, energetic, and EMG data; and the Center for Biomedical Innovation for robotics, VR, AR, and 3D printing. Responsibilities

The successful applicant will participate annually in teaching teach human gross anatomy to osteopathic medical students along with the department's 9 full-time faculty. They will engage in independent research and/or collaborative research with the department's faculty.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Prior experience with clinically-oriented human anatomy is desirable but is not required.
