NYIT’s College of Osteopathic Medicine seeks a Research Assistant for an NIH grant funded role in Biomedical Sciences, located at the Long Island (Old Westbury, NY) campus.
Conduct experiments with animals (mice) and cultured cells using physiological, biochemical, molecular and cellular techniques as agreed upon and approved by the supervisor. This may include implementing the experimental design, data collection, statistical analysis, reporting results and analysis through writing or oral presentation, and preparing manuscripts.
Train and oversee research data collection by students and other lab personnel.
Assist with managing and maintaining a safe and clean lab environment.
B.S., or B.A., in biology and related area.
Must have general knowledge in basic molecular and cellular biology and physiology.
Must have good communication and problem-solving skills and ability to search and analyze literature.
