The Department of Digital Art and Design is seeking experienced graphic design professionals to join as part-time (adjunct) instructors for undergraduate courses in our Graphic Design program at the Old Westbury and Manhattan campuses.
We are looking for instructors who are actively working in design agencies, studios, or in-house teams, utilizing the latest design technologies and creative workflows. Candidates with experience incorporating AI solutions, generative design, or other emerging tools into their design process are strongly preferred.
- Develop and teach courses covering graphic design principles, processes, and portfolio development
- Design engaging assignments and projects that mirror real-world design challenges
- Provide constructive feedback to students to improve their design thinking and execution
- Evaluate student work and provide detailed critiques
- Stay current with design industry trends, software, and technologies
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or related field
Minimum 5 years of professional graphic design experience, preferably at an agency/studio
Expertise in design software like Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, etc.)
Experience with cutting-edge design technologies such as AI, generative design, motion graphics
Outstanding portfolio showcasing innovative design solutions for brands/clients
Excellent communication and presentation abilities
Passion for design education and mentoring students
