Reporting to the Executive Director of Human Resources, the Assistant Director will support general Human Resources related activities and programs, including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compensation and talent management. The incumbent will deliver a full range and scope of human resources services and ensure the implementation of best practices for human resources policies and procedures that align with New York Tech’s institutional mission and values.
In conjunction with HR colleagues, the Assistant Director also will serve as a trusted advisor to managers, support employee concerns, manage employee and labor relations, provide coaching and counseling, guidance to management on progressive discipline procedures and participate in investigations as well as other initiatives as outlined by the Executive Director.
New York Tech is in the midst of transitioning to Workday, and this Assistant Director will demonstrate continuous effort to improve HR operations and streamline processes as we embark on this transformation. The Assistant Director will work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service to all employees and will be an integral part in building partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees. This is a unique position within the organization to help drive various institutional initiatives including hiring and retention.
