Overview

The Department of Biomedical Sciences at New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM), seeks an Assistant/Associate Professor, located at the Long Island (Old Westbury, NY) campus. 

 

NYITCOM has recently established an imaging center which includes many state-of-the-art microscopes. NYITCOM also has a histology core. The department includes a small animal physiology core with comprehensive assessment of cardiac function and echocardiography. The faculty have access to these cores, centers, and the animal facility overseen by the NYITCOM Office of Research.

Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be expected to build a research program in neurodevelopmental or neuroendocrine research and work to attain external grant funding.

 

Participate in teaching in the College of Medicine, as required.

 

Build a research program as a core member of the Biomedical Research Imaging Innovation Center (BRIIC) initiative that is being formed at the NYIT Old Westbury, NY campus. 

Qualifications

Applicants should have a PhD, MD, DO or other comparable doctoral degree.

 

Strengths in the areas of cardiovascular, cancer, and neuroscience, and experience in adult human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) research, iPSC-derived organoid research, neuroendocrine research is required.

 

Experience in Magnetic Resonance Imaging for basic research is preferred.

USD $100,000.00/Yr.
