New York Institute of Technology, School of Health Professions Old Westbury is seeking applications to fill a tenure-track full-time faculty position in the Program in Physical Therapy, open rank. 

 

With an expected start date of August 31, 2024, applications are being accepted now.

Responsibilities

  • Develop lectures, classes, activities, and assignments that fulfill the course objectives.
  • Employ instructional methods that are relevant to the teaching area (e.g., technology integration, active learning strategies, experiential learning, and adult learning concepts).
  • Evaluation of knowledge through assignments and activities
  • Creation of written and practical examinations. All assignments and practical exams must include grading rubrics.
  • Incorporate the use of current, evidence-based materials for teaching.
  • Be available to meet with students by email, appointment, or on an informal basis; participate in regular academic advising for students.
  • Effectively plan and carry out one’s own research agenda and work with students as an advisor for student Capstone projects.
  • Participate in activities of service to the Department, School of Health Professions, Institution and community.
  • Successful candidates will demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching, student interaction and engagement, research, and campus citizenship.

Qualifications

  • Maintain a current NYS License to practice Physical therapy and be in good professional standing.
  • Have work experience in a clinical practice setting for at least 5 years.
  • Hold an Academic Doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DHS, or equivalent)
  • Candidates enrolled in an academic Doctoral degree program will be considered if they are within 1 year of completion.
  • Have 3-5 years of teaching experience as full-time faculty in a Doctor of Physical Therapy education program.
  • Have a record of peer-reviewed publications in professional journals.
  • A history of securing grant funding is preferred.
  • Certification in a clinical specialty is highly preferred.

New York Tech considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience/expertise, education/training, key skills, geographic location, internal peer equity as well as market, organizational considerations and/or applicable collective bargaining agreement when extending an offer.

 

Minimum Salary

USD $75,500.00/Yr.

Maximum Salary

USD $115,060.00/Yr.
