Responsibilities

  • Instruct 7-12 grade historically under-represented students in STEM after-school and summer programs
  • Travel to schools in Queens, Brooklyn, and Long Island daily by car or public transportation
  • Engage students and teachers through remote or hybrid instruction
  • Develop grade-level appropriate STEM curriculum and lessons for K-12 students and teachers
  • Present model lessons and coach K-12 teachers in the development of STEM curriculum and instructional strategies
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

  • BA or BS degree is required.
  • MA or MS degree is preferred.
  • Required field of expertise: STEM, Technology, Computer Science
  • Preferred field of expertise: Education
  • Preferred Training/Certification: 3 years’ teaching experience
  • Preferred Licensure: NYS Teaching License

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and respond promptly and effectively to multiple stakeholders including parents, teachers, administrators, and vendors.
  • A successful candidate will have the drive of a life-long learner to keep current in the fields of educational technology and computer science.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • The candidate hired will have to be fingerprinted in accordance with NYS education policies

New York Tech considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience/expertise, education/training, key skills, geographic location, internal peer equity as well as market, organizational considerations and/or applicable collective bargaining agreement when extending an offer.

 

Minimum Salary

USD $58,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Salary

USD $62,000.00/Yr.
