Responsibilities

  • Live in position; Oversee the daily operations of the leased residence hall on Long Island.
  • Responsible for coordinating with the Director of Housing Operations on all housing operations including furniture inventory and replacement program, damage billing, budgeting, check in/out procedures, safety and security programs, maintenance and upkeep of facilities and Cleary management.
  • Provide leadership, professional development, and ongoing support to all aspects of a residence life program. This includes supervision and support of a graduate resident director, resident assistants, and work-study students.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of all departmental initiatives to ensure that processes are clear, student-focused, innovative, and outcome driven. This includes ongoing program review and assessment of desired outcomes.
  • Serve as a liaison to contract and internal service providers including dining services, safety and security, facilities and maintenance, financial affairs, and housing/leasing agencies.
  • Provide first level conduct adjudication for students at the Long Island residence hall.
  • Oversee and participate in response to students of concern issues, including coordinating the “on-call” emergency response/crisis management system, serving on the university’s crisis management team, and addressing conduct and community standards violations.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Required Field of Expertise: Higher Education, Residence Life
  • Preferred Field of Expertise: Student Conduct
  • Must be able to work non-traditional hours, including some evenings and weekends.
  • Strong administrative, planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles and methods for the operation of a successful residence life program.
  • Strong leadership skills and comfortability in advocating for necessary resources to support the needs of students.
  • Organized and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing deadlines.
  • Experience working with a diverse population, including international students.
  • Team building and management skills.
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills.

New York Tech considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience/expertise, education/training, key skills, geographic location, internal peer equity as well as market, organizational considerations and/or applicable collective bargaining agreement when extending an offer.

 

Minimum Salary

USD $65,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Salary

USD $70,000.00/Yr.
