NYTech’s College of Arts and Sciences seeks an Administrative Assistant  for the department of Behavioral Sciences located on the Long Island (Old Westbury, NY) campus.



Answer phones, answer questions asked or direct to appropriate person, and respond to public inquiries as well as requests from within the institution.


Process and maintain payroll for faculty using NYIT payroll system (faccomp).


Request/process book orders for faculty.


Maintain the department budget for purchases using Oracle.


Maintain office files for record keeping.


Handle faculty and student mailings.


Order faculty and office supplies.


Submit Building and Ground requests using B&G system. (maximo)


Provide program support for the department of Education;  manages multiple events and initiatives.


Anticipate recurring events and is proactive. Creates and manages web pages, online events calendar.


Assist with data gathering and data analysis related to the department of Education and its accreditation.


Work with Dean, Associate Deans and Assistant Dean as needed.


Maintain department's Taskstream account and manages student and staff accounts.


He/she will be responsible to assist with programs in Education as needed.


Performs other duties as assigned.





A Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years’ of administrative experience is required.


Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint.


Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.


Must be able to work independently and in a collaborative environment.
