The Education Department at New York Institute of Technology, anticipates openings for part-time (adjunct) instructors for the Fall 2021. semester. We expect that the new faculty hires will be assigned courses in Literacy Theory and Culturally Responsive Teaching. Both courses are taught in fully online environments.
For Literacy Theory courses, candidates must have a minimum Master’s degree in English, Reading, Literacy, Special Education, or a related field, teacher certification, and teaching experience at the P-12 level.
For Culturally Responsive Teaching, candidates must have a minimum Master’s degree in a field aligned with New York State teacher certification, teacher certification, and teaching experience with diverse learners.
Candidates should have prior experience in remote and/or online teaching using an LMS (such as Schoology, Blackboard or Canvas) for course delivery. Adjuncts will be expected to complete training for Canvas before the start of the semester. All adjuncts will also be expected to participate in orientation, as needed, before the start of the semester.
