Responsibilities

NYTech’s Office of Student Life seeks a Student Life Coordinator for the Long Island, NY (Old Westbury) campus with responsibilities and expectation of travel to/from the New York City campus. The Student Life Coordinator is an integral part of the student experience. Working collaboratively with the Student Engagement & Development Offices and reporting to the Associate Dean of CampusLife, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Develop, strategize and execute several visible programs and initiatives with a focus on campus traditions, late night/off campus trips, special populations (ie. commuters, graduate, and first gen) including but not limited to Final Roar (graduating senior event series), and Week of Welcome. Manage and supervise the budgets related to these initiatives.
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion program in collaboration with  campus partners and local resources from the development and implementation  for both campuses.
  • Oversee and manage all honor societies. Implement programming and ceremonies related to these organizations. Consistent evening and weekend work will be needed for these programs.
  • Work with clubs and organizations to assist in the registration process and onboarding of new clubs.
  • Oversee the Student Life awards program from nominations through recognition ceremonies for both campuses.
  • Represent the department at campus-wide events and be an active part of campus-wide committees to enhance the student experience. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required; a Master’s degree in Student Affairs or a related field is preferred. 
  • Strong leadership, management and organizational skills is required. 
  • Must have knowledge of student programming and leadership development and able to work with a diverse student population. 
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize projects while working in a team environment. 
  • Flexible to work evenings and/or weekends as required.
