    New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine seeks an Occupational Therapist, (part time), located at the Academic Health Care Center in Long Island (Old Westbury) NY.


    Administers direct patient care in accordance with the written and signed prescription of the referring physician or other state authorized practitioner, and submits required documentation in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Department.


    Utilizes thorough and appropriate evaluation techniques to establish realistic goals.


    Designs and implements a treatment plan which best meets the needs of the patient and works toward achieving established goals.


    Must complete visit notes within designated time frame and have thorough knowledge of Medicare rules and regulations as it applies to the delivery of occupational therapy services. 



    A Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy  and NYS License in Occupational Therapy is required.


    Clinical Doctorate in Occupational Therapy is preferred.


    Must have knowledge of Neurological Rehabilitation


    Preferred field of expertise in Geriatric Rehabilitation .


    A Health and Wellness Certification is preferred. 


    Must be competent in creating hand and wrist splints


    Must be able to recommend and educate in the use of adaptive equipment for facilitation of activities of daily living.


    A CPR certification and over 3 years experience is  preferred.


    Must be highly organized with strong communication skills, be patient oriented, and attentive to details.
