The purpose of the Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP) is to prepare secondary school students, who are either economically disadvantaged or minorities historically underrepresented in STEM, for entry into postsecondary degree programs in scientific, technical, health-related and licensed professions.
The ultimate objective of the NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM) is to prepare a diverse motivated health care workforce that provides the opportunity for increased access to medical care, as well as to eliminate health disparities among medically deprived and underserved people.
New York Institute of Technology, College of Osteopathic Medicine STEP grant seeks a part-time Project Coordinator, who will be responsible for developing and implementing the middle school program serving twenty to twenty five students. Reporting to the STEP program manager, candidates will be working closely with school district personnel. The middle school program sessions will meet once a month at both Glen Cove and Wyandanch Middle Schools with sessions based on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
It will be 20 hours a week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
