    NYIT (New York Institute of Technology) offers 90 degree programs, including undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees, in more than 50 fields of study, including architecture and design; arts and sciences; education; engineering and computing sciences; health professions; management; and osteopathic medicine.     Responsibilities

    The Alumni Officer assists the Director of Alumni Relations with the creation and implementation of a strategic alumni relations program that increases awareness of and involvement in the institution by the 103,000 NYIT alumni. This includes cultivating and stewarding alumni, marketing events to achieve maximum participation, recruiting leadership for the Alumni Board and class reunions, and assisting with the alumni communication and social media plans.

    • Meets with 5-7 alumni per month, outside of events and Alumni Board meetings, to create and maintain pathways for alumni participation that advance the goals of the organization.
    • Assists with the creation of a plan for cultivating high Anniversary Class attendance and giving at Commencement, and in identifying class ambassadors for the 48th, 49th, and 50th anniversary years.
    • Assists with the creation of a plan for cultivation high Homecoming & Family Weekend attendance.
    • Collaborates on the planning and implementation of the Senior Class Gift and Student Alumni Association.
    • Recruits, discovers, and cultivates relationships with alumni, students, university staff, and community members.
    • Organizes and executes regional, cultivation, stewardship, and networking events as necessary and provides follow-up reporting.
    • Develops, plans, and executes various alumni communications, with the focus of marketing events, programs, services, and volunteer opportunities.
    • Assists with the implementation of the Women’s Professional Network, BOLD (Bears of the Last Decade) Alumni Committee, Black Alumni Council, and NetCommunity launch.
    • Ability to articulate NYIT’s mission, vision and goals to alumni and friends of the institution.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree required.
    • 2-3 three years of work experience in an office setting.
    • Social Media expert, particularly related to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
    • Experience in events planning, volunteer management, alumni relations, development, annual giving or student affairs experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge, Blackbaud Net Community, and iModules preferred.
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
    • Ability to work under a variety of conditions throughout the year during alumni events, indoors and outdoors, and carry supplies to remote campus locations.
