    Responsibilities

    NYIT's Manhattan campus seeks a Senior Specialist for the School of Management-Graduate Program. Working closely with the School's Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs, Director of Student Affairs and Director of Assessment, the chosen candidate will provide academic advisement to MBA students at our Manhattan location.

     

    Responsibilities include:

    • Review MBA student admissions portfolios and makes admission decisions concerning student applications for NY area campuses.
    • Involvement in curriculum degree map to guide registration process (course selections, course withdrawals, graduation applications, change of majors)
    • Identifying substitute courses when cancellation of classes occurs due to lack of enrollment.
    • Serving as MBA ombudsman and handle/resolve student inquiries.
    • Monitor both selected assessment results and GPA, the latter towards assisting in decisions concerning probation, dismissal and graduation.
    • Monitor SOM ETS assessment results in support of AACSB accreditation.  
    • Prepare payroll/faccomps through PeopleSoft for Manhattan and OW full-time faculty for overload teaching and administrative stipends and payment of adjunct faculty.
    • Updating and maintaining records of payment to faculty and courses taught for MA and OW SOM full-time and adjunct faculty.
    • Process new hire paperwork for adjuncts.
    • Participates in recruitment activities, including Preview day, accepted student events, orientation and various other SOM events.

     

     

    Qualifications

     

    MBA or comparable graduate degree required.

    Knowledge of Graduate Programs

    Excellent communications skills and interpersonal needed as well as familiarity with technology and social media.
