    Responsibilities

    • Implement best practices for the handling and processing of all undergraduate and graduate inquiries, applications and supporting documents within the Institution’s student information system, content management system and CRM as well as various centralized application systems; oversea the mapping, testing and managing of all online/digital imports within and between these various systems; troubleshoot and problem solve for maximum efficiency;
    • Oversee the daily operations of the processing department for both undergraduate and graduate admissions ensuring timely handling of all incoming, mail, email, calls and walk-ins along with exceptional customer services;
    • Training, goal setting and daily management of support staff, including student workers and temporary employees; conduct analysis of application cycle and workflow volume to anticipate and plan department’s tasks and goals;
    • Work collaboratively with the Senior Directors/Directors of undergraduate, graduate, global and international admissions;
    • Provide best practices and support to various program/department chairs and faculty reviewers to ensure timely processing and notification of their applicants;
    • Partner with IT to ensure needs of the admissions department are met, develop best practices and onboard new solutions/technologies;
    • Responsible for training entire admissions department, faculty admissions reviewers and other campus departments who create student records.  Responsible for creating and maintaining accurate and user-friendly procedure manuals;
    • Take part in all enrollment services events; may be asked to serve on various faculty and staff ad hoc or standing NYIT committees.

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors' degree is required with and 5-8 years of administrative experience in higher education are preferred;
    • Experience working in student information systems (i.e., PeopleSoft) is essential; knowledge of TargetX or similar CRM software is a plus; knowledge of centralized application systems especially for programs within the health professions is also a plus;
    • Exceptional process design and improvement skills are critical along with computer and customer service skills; ability to train, instruct and develop training materials;
    • Candidate must be detailed-oriented, with ability to multi task and prioritize work;
    • Must be adaptable, and flexible, able to prioritize and respond effectively to multiple demands. Problem solving, analytical and creative thinking. Commitment to integrity in the admissions process. Some weekend and late night work is required.
