Responsibilities

NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine seeks an Associate Director for Wellness Services in Student Administration.

 

  • Assist medical students in identifying and managing academic and personal issues that might affect their academic performance and interfere with their ability to focus on coursework, meet deadlines, or prepare adequately for exams
  • Prepare and provide programming and workshops related to orientation, study skills, licensing exam preparation, and other topics of interest to medical students
  • Act as a resource for faculty and staff regarding medical students of concern
  • Provide crisis intervention, including hospitalizations and on call responsibilities.
  • Provide prevention programs such as suicide prevention, depression, dating and domestic violence.
  • Complete administrative tasks including approvals of MMRs for medical students.
  • Implement wellness policies and procedures at the medical school developed by the Senior Director of the NYIT Counseling and Wellness Center.

Qualifications

 

  • Master’s Degree in Counseling required
  • 3-5 years of direct counseling experience required
  • NYS Mental Health Counselor, MSW or Psychologist
