NYIT’s Office of Admissions seeks a Transfer Evaluations Specialist located at the Old Westbury campus.
Process the transfer credit evaluations paperwork for all students receiving credit, which includes maintaining and updating the evaluations checklists in the student information system (PeopleSoft) as well as scanning, linking, and updating evaluations-related materials into the document imaging software (WebNow).
Provide quality assurance of evaluation by proofing completed transfer credit evaluations.
Manage the communications to students receiving credit, which includes uploading relevant documents to each individual student's portal and managing the electronic and paper communications sent to each student regarding their updated documents; and taking responsibility for the evaluation’s department main phone line and email.
Prepare and complete data entry, posting and proof reading of all transfer credits, including freshman with advanced standing or those with incoming placement credits. Update TES (Transfer Evaluation System) with standard equivalencies, as needed.
Lead projects to test and improve the transfer credit posting in the student information system. Oversee the required testing of evaluation processes as a result of the system updates. Assist in the development and maintenance of new projects as they pertain to transfer credit posting in the student information system. Receive and process electronic test score reports including AP, IBO and CLEP.
Provide additional administrative support by recording minutes of evaluation team meetings, providing support during campus wide events such as Open House and Preview Day and assist with freshman advisement during placement exams, as needed. Hire, train, and supervise the department's Graduate Assistant for administrative/clerical support.
Evaluate and prepare transfer credit evaluations for students receiving low number of transfer credit, under the supervision of an evaluator.
Bachelor's degree. 1-3 years of experience in a college or university setting that includes interaction with transfer credit evaluation and interpretation of college policies, is preferred. Must have attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience using student information systems. PeopleSoft preferred as well as experience with data entry.
