As a part of an institution wide effort of strengthening Sciences and Mathematics education, the Physics department at the Manhattan campus of NYIT is inviting applicants for a tenure track Assistant Professor level position, starting in August 2018.
Teaching Undergraduate Physics lecture and lab courses offered to Architecture and Engineering majors included but not limited to Introductory Physics, Physics for the Modern Architect, General Physics I and II, Modern Physics, Biomedical Physics.
Participate in course and program development.
The candidates will pursue research in their field of expertise, engage undergraduate students in research that may lead to publications, advise students and perform service to the department, university, and community.
Primary teaching responsibilities at the Manhattan campus, and with possible, occasional teaching in Old Westbury.
A Ph.D. in Physics is required. Postdoctoral experience is preferred. A Physicist with a computational background and innovative teaching experience is preferred. The successful candidates will demonstrate a potential to attract external funding.
