Its seven schools and colleges include: School of Architecture and Design; College of Arts and Sciences, School of Engineering and Computing Sciences; School of Health Professions; School of Management; College of Osteopathic Medicine, and the newly formed School of Interdisciplinary Studies and Education. Within the College of Medicine, the Academic Health Centers provide primary care and specialty care to the community at two locations, Old Westbury and Central Islip, New York. Specialties include Family Medicine, Internal medicine, Pediatrics, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, Sports Medicine, Medical Genetics, Neurology, Psychiatry and Rehabilitation Services.


  • Develop and ensure compliance with the Patient Centered Medical Home Model of Health Care Delivery(oversee Patient Centered Appointment Access, develop a team based approach including the development of a Practice Team, adhere to the CLAS standards, ensure accurate data entry for population management, ensure ability to track & coordinate care.)
  • Knowledge of JCAHO Ambulatory Accreditation standards and application process.
  • Knowledge of legal regulations pertaining to the provision of health care in NY State
  • Oversee the operational functions to maximize health center efficiency.
  • Manage the IT needs of the health centers.
  • Ensure that reports to government agencies are on time.
  • Responsible for executing projects/changes as directed by the Medical Director and Vice President.
  • Interpret management reports & explain to Physicians and staff.
  • Participate in perpetuating and ensuring practice growth.
  • Negotiates fees and contract terms with major plans.
  • Networking to find out what other health centers are doing re: state-of-the art.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Finance to address financial issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.



  • Master’s Degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or Public Health, or equivalent.
  • At least 7 years’ experience in the health care industry.
  • Working knowledge of health information systems and E-Clinical Works.
  • Strong management and organizational skills, detail-oriented.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
