Responsibilities

New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) seeks an Associate Professor of Nursing, ( full-time, tenure track position for January 2018 ). The CCNE accredited BS in Nursing program is offered on the Old Westbury campus, LI, NY. The Nursing Department is part of the School of Health Professions and works closely with other departments and the Medical College to implement inter-professional initiatives. The department is known for its innovative transcultural nursing curriculum and state-of-the-art media and instructional technology.

Qualifications

 

 

Earned Doctoral Degree, Master’s Degree in Nursing and NYS RN License required or potential to obtain license.  Candidates must be experienced educators and practitioners with a progressing and focused research and publication agenda. Prior teaching experience in a baccalaureate and/or Master’s degree program, certification NP, CCRN, CNS, CNE), experience with client simulation and on-line teaching desired. Responsibilities include teaching, research and service. Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: Maternal Child Health, Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing, Adult Health, Community/Population Health and Simulation Technology.   Teaching involves didactic and clinical responsibilities, active participation in the academic community which includes assessment and outcomes evaluation, community work, student advisement, curriculum/degree program development, accreditation compliance and evaluation.
