Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Director, International and Experiential Education New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) seeks an Administrative Assistant located at the Manhattan Campus.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the administration of the International and Experiential Education office. Support the Senior Director, the Director of International Education, the Director of Experiential Education and all International and Experiential Education staff in providing programs, services and resources designed to help all constituents participating in departmental programs and services.

  • Visitor intake and reception.
  • Letter writing:
  • To DMV for students to get their drivers’ licenses.
  • To banks for student bank accounts.
  • To Social Security Administration when students secure on-campus jobs.
  • Letters stating full-time study
  • Correspondence with on and off campus partners.
  • Generation of requisitions in Oracle.
  • Generate monthly reports.
  • Student employee training, hiring and scheduling.
  • Project coordination and scheduling.
  • Meeting coordination and note taking.
  • Assistance with the clerical entry of records in SEVIS and People Soft including updates within the first few weeks of each semester.
  • Web content updates.
  • Notifications and emails sent to international students about upcoming events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

 

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Power Point, Google Drive, Outlook, PeopleSoft, Oracle, social media and DataWarehouse.
  • Exceptional ability to create a warm, welcoming, solutions oriented and fun environment for all office visitors.
  • MUST have the ability to multi task, strong attention to detail, strong problem solving , critical thinking, intercultural and interpersonal communications skills, exceptional writing skills and self-directed leadership skills.
  • Working knowledge of SEVIS and international student federal visa regulations

Bachelor’s degree preferred. If a high school diploma is the highest degree, 2-3 years of Administrative support experience required; if associates degree is the highest degree, 1-2 additional years of Administrative support experience required.   Please send resume with cover letter.
