Reporting to the Director of Operations, NYIT seeks a Senior Operations Specialist for its Old Westbury campus. The ideal candidate must be able to execute the responsibilities of this position with accuracy, maturity, and the ability to handle information with confidentiality and efficiency.


  • Work with Director of Admissions, Operations to develop structures that accomplish the mission and goals of the Enrollment Management Division to maximize efficiency and effectiveness throughout the enrollment process using available personnel and systems resources.
  • Manage Operations Department staff attendance and timesheets, arrange Old Westbury and Manhattan admissions reception coverage schedules and when need and appropriate provide last minute reception coverage for Manhattan
  • Develop and lead project plans for the execution of operational processes related to document intake, records management, data and dissemination and customer service to students, parents and other constituents.
  • Responsible for managing office and staff in Directors absence or when needed.
  • Serve as point person for CRM (TargetX) uploading of data from NYIT online application, third party applications, third party standardize test results, resolving issues blocking record creation.
  • Trouble shoot and solve issues related to student’s record in our CRM, SIS or CMS. Clearing any issues within individual system or across multiple systems; such as duplicate records.
  • Responsible for working with OIT (Office of Information Technology) on testing our CRM (TargetX), SIS (PeopleSoft) or CMS (ImageNow) for system upgrades.
  • Assist the Director of Admissions, Operations with training operations, admissions and external department’s staff to use our database systems, all phases of application processing and other office tasks
  • Will perform other duties as required and support all areas of admissions; cross -trained in all phases of admissions processing.
  • Take part in all enrollment services events as required
  • Candidate will be based on the campus in Old Westbury but will be expected to work out of Old Westbury and Manhattan campus as assigned.



  • Bachelors’ degree is required, and 3-5 years of administrative experience in Higher Ed is preferred.
  • Experience working in student information systems (ie., PeopleSoft) and CRM software is a plus
  • Strong computer skills and customer service skills is required.
  • A professional demeanor is required as well as excellent communications skills (written and verbal), interpersonal skills as well as strong organizational skills.
  • Candidate must be detailed-oriented, with ability to multi task and prioritize work.
  • Prior experience with business process redesign
  • Ability to train, instruct and develop training materials
  • Must be adaptable, and flexible, able to prioritize and respond effectively to multiple demands. Problem solving, analytical and creative thinking. Commitment to integrity in the admissions process. Some weekend and late night work is required
