NYIT’s Old Westbury campus seeks a Senior Specialist for the Enrollment Services Center



  • Provides walk in assistance associated with Enrollment Services, which include the areas of Student Accounts, Financial Aid, and Registrar.
  • Central to this role is promoting a customer service model focused on student satisfaction and retention.
  • Within the scope of services either provided or facilitated by the senior specialist are administering placement exams, first-year advisement, registration and assisting students with inquiries regarding degree requirements, policies and procedures, billing, financial assistance, and general university services.
  • The senior specialist is the principal point of contact for first and second-year students, and ensures that other functional areas provide effective solutions when it is not within the purview of the ESC senior specialist to do so.
  • The senior specialist participates in service events such as Orientation, Preview Day and Open House.
  • The senior specialist works as part of a retention team under the direct supervision of the ESC Director, Old Westbury campus.



  • Bachelor's degree required, master's preferred in student personnel administration, education, or related area in higher education.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an academic advisor in a higher education setting or enrollment services environment.
  • Demonstrated success working with students or customers in a service-oriented environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication, critical thinking and administrative skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility to accommodate adjusting priorities.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of student information systems, preferably experience with PeopleSoft student systems software, Microsoft Office and comfort with new technologies.

Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings as required
